Turn slide images into editable PowerPoint
About EditablePPT
EditablePPT converts slide images, screenshots, posters and PDF pages into editable PowerPoint files. Upload a PNG or JPG and its AI layer conversion pulls the picture apart into five layers - text, photos and illustrations, icons and decorations, cards and buttons, and background - which you can inspect in a 3D view, edit in place and download as a PPTX. It targets a common problem: AI tools like ChatGPT and Gemini often hand back a slide as a flat image that cannot be edited. EditablePPT also has separate converters for PDFs, for PPTX decks made of one image per slide, and for slides and notes, including text copied from NotebookLM.
There are two conversion modes. Standard separates text and image layers in about 1-2 minutes for 40 credits per image or PDF page. Layered splits five layers, keeps word art as its own layer and takes about 3-5 minutes for 80 credits, with an optional fine split of the card layer at no extra cost. Credits pay only for AI work: image-slide mode, which places a picture as a single object, and local PPTX rebuilding stay free. The free plan gives 100 signup credits once, enough for about two conversions, so ongoing use means a monthly or yearly plan from $9 a month, a lifetime plan, or a one-time credit pack.
Pick the converter that matches your source. For an image, drop, choose or paste a PNG or JPG of up to 20 MB and 25 megapixels, such as a slide from an AI tool, a screenshot or a saved poster. PDFs go through PDF to PPTX (up to 20 pages and 100 MB), and decks made of image slides go through Image PPT to Editable PPT.
Choose Standard or Layered mode. When the conversion finishes, rotate the layers in 3D to see what was split, compare the flat result with the original, hide the layers you do not need and edit text in place.
Download the editable PPTX and keep working in PowerPoint, Keynote or Google Slides.
The site is candid about limits: clear text on flat backgrounds converts cleanly, while charts and tables may come back as pictures, and dense small type, formulas and handwriting may be misread.
- •Image to PPT layer conversion - Splits a PNG or JPG slide into text, photos and illustrations, icons and decorations, cards and buttons, and background.
- •Layered mode and fine split - Keeps word art as a separate layer and can split the card layer again so buttons, title strips and small backplates come apart from larger cards and panels.
- •3D layer view and comparison - Rotate the layer stack, adjust its depth and compare the result with the original before downloading.
- •PDF and image-PPTX converters - Turn PDFs of up to 20 pages, or PPTX files with one image per slide, into editable PPTX with recovered text and image layers.
- •Slides, notes and AI generation - Convert pasted notes (including NotebookLM text) into PPTX, turn a deck into study notes in Word or PDF, and generate presentations with an AI PPT generator that starts with a planning conversation.
- •Credit plans with free basics - Monthly, yearly and lifetime plans plus pay-as-you-go packs, with failed slides retried without another charge and image-slide mode free.
EditablePPT is for people who generated slides with ChatGPT, Gemini or a design tool and ended up with images they now need to edit. It also fits teachers reusing PDF handouts and image-based slides, and anyone rebuilding a deck that only exists as screenshots or exported pictures.
Occasional users can buy a credit pack - $1.40 covers 20 standard pages - rather than committing to a subscription, while people converting decks every week can pick a monthly plan from $9 for 5,200 credits.
It is less suited to slides whose value lies in editable charts and tables, or to photos of printed pages taken at an angle, since those may come back as pictures. The product is young and the AI models behind the conversion are not named.
