Oh!Mate
Desktop AI workspace for documents, slides, data and writing
About Oh!Mate
Oh!Mate is a desktop AI workspace that carries out office tasks rather than only answering questions about them. You give it a goal and authorized files or folders, and an agent reads the sources, plans the steps, does the work, and leaves Word, Excel, PowerPoint or PDF deliverables in a working directory for review. Its advertised tasks are document-heavy: bid documents, contract audits, bulk reconciliation, proposal reviews, presentations and weekly reports.
Two things set it apart from a chat assistant. It edits office files precisely, changing only what you name. And it is built around control: each client, project or task gets its own Work with sources, conversations, Skills and permissions, outputs go to a separate directory you can discard, and sensitive actions ask you to allow once, allow for the session, or deny. Oh!Mate says it selects models validated for office work but does not name them. The product has a Chinese-market orientation, with a Chinese language toggle and writing scenarios for WeChat, RedNote and Zhihu. Pricing is a weekly credit allowance: Free with 40 credits every 7 days, and paid plans from $15 a month.
Download the desktop app and sign in. During the check the site offered macOS builds for Intel and Apple Silicon; a Windows build was not confirmed. Use Ask for a quick question or a single file, or create a Work for anything larger.
In a Work, add authorized sources, the files or folders the agent may read, and describe the goal. The agent breaks it into steps and explains the actions it needs. Every plan, file operation and command appears in an activity stream, and the agent asks for confirmation before writing, taking high-risk actions or reaching outside the authorized scope.
When the task finishes, deliverables and work records land in the Work directory. The Work keeps conversations, outputs and decisions together, and built-in work-log Skills record what was done and what comes next, so you can pick up days later.
- •Office task handoff - Reconciliation with discrepancy reports, file organization with a content index, and research synthesis with sourced conclusions.
- •Format-preserving edits - Change only the paragraph, cell or slide you name; styles, formulas and templates stay intact.
- •Three-pane workspace - Sources, the AI conversation and generated artifacts side by side, with multiple Work tabs.
- •Controlled, auditable execution - Sources and outputs kept apart, visible tool calls, and permission prompts for sensitive actions.
- •Skills and extensions - Save workflows as reusable Skills, use built-in work-log Skills, and install Skills for Excel automation, approvals, form collection and industry templates.
- •Search, research and images - Search, cross-check and summarize, and understand, generate or edit images, on every plan.
Oh!Mate is built for people whose day is spent in contracts, reports, spreadsheets and decks. Operations and finance staff can hand it raw data to clean, reconcile and report on. Legal and procurement teams can check contracts against templates or match qualifications to bid requirements. Marketers publishing on WeChat, RedNote and Zhihu can adapt one source into platform-specific copy and scripts.
Free covers occasional, lightweight tasks; Plus at $15 a month is pitched at everyday office work, Pro at $30 at frequent multi-step tasks, and Max at $90 at several projects in parallel. Credits are consumed by actual model usage, so heavy documents use more. Upgrades are billed for a full period without proration, and the FAQ says downgrades and moves back to Free are not supported, so start on Free before committing.
