FloorDrafter
AI floor plan generator: text or a sketch to a 2D or 3D plan
About FloorDrafter
FloorDrafter is an AI floor plan generator that takes whatever you have, a hand sketch, a scanned or photographed old plan, a blueprint, or just a written description of the rooms, and turns it into a clean drawing in 2D, 2.5D or 3D. Its tagline is "Redrawn, not redesigned": when you upload an existing plan, the goal is to keep your walls, room names and dimensions exactly as they are and change only the presentation, unless you ask for something different. That fills a real gap between scribbling a layout on paper and learning CAD software or paying a drafter.
FloorDrafter behaves more like an assistant than a one-shot generator. It reads your drawing, asks when something is unclear, remembers your requirements across the session and makes the specific changes you point at. The same space can come back as a full-colour rendered plan, a black-and-white technical drawing, a colour plan, a furnished 2.5D overhead view or a 3D isometric dollhouse render. Your first floor plan needs no account, and paid plans add 4K output, watermark-free downloads and DXF export for CAD tools.
Start from an image or from text. With From image, upload a photo, scan, sketch or blueprint in JPG, PNG or WebP. With From text, describe the space: the room size, which wall the door and window are on, and what has to fit.
Optionally say how the plan should be redrawn. Leave the instruction blank and FloorDrafter simply redraws it in the selected style with walls, dimensions and openings unchanged, or ask for something specific such as turn into 3D, clean up my sketch, label and dimension, same shell with a new layout, or an office, cafe or clinic layout.
Choose a style (Rendered, Technical, Colour Plan, 2.5D or 3D) and a resolution, then click Generate Floor Plan. The result appears next to what you uploaded, and every run is kept in a history panel.
Refine through follow-up requests, then download a high-resolution PNG, or on Pro and Studio export a DXF vector file to continue in CAD software. A separate Floor Plan to 3D Model tool and a Studio workspace cover larger projects.
- •Image to floor plan - Redraw a hand-drawn sketch or an existing plan into a clean, labelled drawing that keeps the original layout and the dimensions you wrote.
- •Text to floor plan - Type a plain-English description of rooms and sizes, for example a 10 by 10 ft bedroom or an 8 by 12 ft galley kitchen, and get an editable 2D layout drafted in seconds.
- •Five drawing styles - Generate the same space as a rendered plan, a technical CAD-style drawing, a colour plan, a furnished 2.5D overhead view or a true 3D isometric render.
- •Conversational edits - The agent remembers your requirements, asks clarifying questions, and applies the changes you point at instead of regenerating the whole plan each time.
- •DXF and 4K export - Pro and Studio unlock 4K ultra-high resolution and DXF/CAD vector export, with a commercial licence and no watermark.
- •Room and use-case presets - Dedicated generators for kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, living rooms, apartments, offices and restaurants, plus renovation and colour floor plan modes.
Homeowners planning a renovation use FloorDrafter to turn a tape-measure sketch into a clean plan they can share with a builder or use to test furniture layouts. Real estate agents and property managers turn old scanned plans into tidy, consistent drawings and 3D renders for listings.
Interior designers and architects use it for quick concept layouts and presentation drawings before committing time in CAD, and the DXF export lets them carry the result into their usual tools. Small businesses planning an office, cafe, clinic or restaurant fit-out can explore layouts without hiring a drafter for early iterations.
Occasional users can rely on the free first plan and one-time credit packs, while designers and agents generating plans every week will find the Pro or Studio subscription more economical.
