Mem is not the note-taking app it used to be. It rebuilt itself around an agent, and the notes are now the agent's memory rather than the product. The pitch is "your AI chief of staff": Mem Agent keeps a living picture of your tasks, projects and goals, updates that picture as new context arrives, and steps in when a nudge will actually help. The workspace still holds notes, meetings, clipped research and ideas, but it exists to give the agent something durable and visible to reason over.
That distinction matters if you are choosing between this and an ordinary notes app. The problem Mem now claims to solve is not capture, it is the fact that everything you know about a project lives in your head and has to be rebuilt every time you sit down.
