ORANO
AI that understands your videos.
About ORANO
ORANO is a mobile and web app that watches the Reels, Shorts, social videos and uploads you save and turns them into something you can act on. Most people save short-form videos with the intention of coming back later, and later rarely arrives: the recipe, the tool recommendation or the business idea sits in a saved folder that nobody searches. ORANO processes each save as it arrives, analyzing what was said, what the frames show, the text written on screen and the caption and links around the post, then hands back a summary, the key takeaways and, when the video is actually actionable, a short list of next steps.
What sets ORANO apart from a plain transcript tool is that it treats a video as several separate kinds of evidence rather than just speech. A Reel that lists API providers on screen without ever saying their names still yields those names, because the on-screen text and sampled frames are read alongside the audio. The output also adapts to the content: a recipe becomes steps, a recommendation keeps the key picks, and an explainer stays a summary without invented tasks. Beyond video, ORANO accepts carousels, posts, articles, PDFs and GitHub repositories. The app is free to download on iPhone, iPad and Android with an optional in-app Pro subscription, and a separate $5 per month web plan gives AI agents read-only access to your library through ORANO MCP.
You start by saving something. On a phone you tap the share button in Instagram, TikTok, YouTube or X and pick ORANO from the share sheet, or you paste a link from the ORANO home screen. You can also upload a video that is already on your device, or use the web app with the same account.
ORANO then processes the save. It fetches the source, its caption and metadata, recognizes the speech, samples representative frames and reads on-screen text, and keeps links and outside web context labeled separately from what the creator actually said. A processing timeline in the app shows each stage until the save is ready. Uploaded video files are treated as temporary processing inputs and are deleted after extraction, according to the privacy terms.
The result is a project in your library. Each project has an overview with the summary and takeaways, an action plan with ordered steps when the content supports one, and a chat view. From there you can send steps to your task list or ask follow-up questions.
The built-in assistant, Ori, answers questions across everything you have saved, drawing on your library, your notes and the web, with sources attached. If you work with another AI tool, you can connect it: a project can be handed to ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor or a local model such as Ollama as a single link, and with the MCP plan an MCP-compatible client can list your projects, read summaries and tasks, and search your library directly.
- •Multi-signal video understanding - ORANO analyzes speech, captions, frames, on-screen text and source context together rather than relying on the transcript alone. Visual analysis and OCR pick up provider names, prices and other details that appear in the shot but are never spoken, and the creator caption is kept separate from the spoken words so you can tell who said what.
- •Action plans that match the content - Actionable videos become ordered next steps you can tick off or send to tasks, while explainers and recommendations keep the useful ideas without fake tasks. Each project carries a summary, key takeaways and, where relevant, a roadmap of learning or execution steps.
- •Broad source support - Beyond Reels, Shorts, TikToks and X videos, ORANO accepts YouTube links, carousels, posts, articles, PDFs, GitHub repositories and your own uploaded videos, so one library holds the reference material you collect from across the web.
- •Ori library chat - The in-app assistant answers questions across your whole saved library and memory, pulls in web results when needed, and returns sourced answers. You can ask what the first step of a saved plan is, or what a creator recommended in a video you saved weeks ago.
- •ORANO MCP for agents - A personal, read-only MCP server lets Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or your own agent read projects, sources, tasks, research and curated memory. The context selector exposes 14 named fields such as transcript, frame_analysis, links, summary and tasks, in structured, Markdown or plain-text formats with a size limit, and reports empty fields as unavailable rather than filling them in. Agents cannot change your account or projects.
- •Cross-device access and account controls - The same account works in the iOS and Android apps and the web app, with projects kept until you delete them. Support, privacy information, export guidance and account deletion are all published on the site, and the company states it does not sell user data.
ORANO suits people who save a lot of short-form video and want to actually use it. Home cooks who bookmark recipe Reels get the steps written out, travellers saving relocation or itinerary videos get a checklist, and readers collecting book recommendations get a list of titles rather than a pile of clips. Anyone who uses social video as a learning feed, such as founders, marketers and students following creators for tips, can turn those saves into searchable notes and next actions.
Developers and AI power users are the second audience. The MCP plan exists for people who already work inside Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or Claude Code and want their agent to reason about a video without sampling raw footage itself. The site publishes setup guides for Claude Code and Cursor and documents the context request format, which makes ORANO a practical way to feed social video into an agent workflow or a research pipeline.
It is less suited to long-form video editing or production work, since ORANO reads and summarizes content rather than editing it. The support page also notes that summaries and action plans are AI-generated and can miss context or get details wrong, especially on fast-moving or highly technical videos, so anything important should be double-checked before acting on it.
