AI visibility audits that tell small teams what to fix
About Citelane
Citelane is an AI visibility audit tool for small SaaS teams. It checks whether ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude recommend your business when buyers ask what to use, and which competitors and pages they cite instead. Unlike a dashboard that only reports a score, Citelane then turns the gap into one concrete page edit, grounded in facts you confirm, and checks that the edit actually went live after you publish it.
A full audit asks GPT-5 mini, Perplexity Sonar, Gemini 2.5 Flash and Claude Haiku 4.5 through their official APIs, with web search where available. The site is upfront that these are API samples and can differ from answers in the consumer chat apps, and every result is labelled with the model that produced it. There is no composite score, and a missing sample is shown as missing rather than counted as "not mentioned". Citelane is in beta, and its own sample reports are run on products built by the same team.
Paste a page address and run the free diagnosis, which takes about a minute and needs no sign-in. It asks a few buyer questions and produces a shareable report showing whether you were mentioned, whether your site was cited and who came up instead.
With an account you can run full audits. Each one asks up to three buyer questions, in your own words or picked from suggestions, across all four assistants. On Starter, each assistant is asked three times per question and results come with 95% ranges. The audit also runs technical checks: noindex, canonical tags, robots.txt rules for GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, PerplexityBot and Claude's crawlers, the sitemap and server-rendered text.
Citelane then drafts one page edit, shown as a word-level diff against your live copy. Any number, platform or promise without a confirmed fact is flagged, and you cannot approve the edit until it is fixed. You publish it yourself, paste the URL back, and Citelane fetches the live page and confirms every approved sentence is there.
- •Four-assistant audits - Every full audit covers ChatGPT (GPT-5 mini), Perplexity Sonar, Gemini 2.5 Flash and Claude Haiku 4.5, with no per-assistant add-ons on any plan.
- •Competitor and citation counts - See every sampled answer in full, whether you were mentioned or cited, and which competitors and pages were cited instead, counted in code.
- •AI crawler checks - Checks robots.txt rules for the major AI crawlers, plus noindex, canonical, sitemap and server-rendered text, so you can see if a technical block is the cause.
- •Grounded rewrite - A drafted page edit built only from facts you confirm, with unsupported claims flagged and approval tied to the exact approved wording.
- •Live publication check - After you publish, Citelane fetches the page and matches it sentence by sentence, then lets you log reviews at day 7, 14 and 28.
- •Weekly re-sampling - Opt-in weekly re-checks of your questions with before and after history, rather than daily tracking of hundreds of prompts.
Citelane is built for founders and small SaaS teams who want to know whether AI assistants recommend their product and want one clear change to ship each week, not another monitoring dashboard. The Starter plan is described as being for a founder improving one site every week.
It is a poor fit for teams that need daily tracking of hundreds of prompts, Google AI Overviews tracking or automatic publishing to a CMS. The site says so directly and points those teams to dedicated trackers.
