About Image3D
Image3D is a browser workbench that turns a product photo, a concept image or a short written prompt into a 3D model you can inspect and export. The gap it fills is the one between having a reference image and needing an actual mesh: photogrammetry needs many photos and a rig, and modelling by hand needs skills and hours, while a lot of practical work only needs a rough but usable model of one object. Image3D sits in that middle, generating a model from a single image and letting you look at it in the browser before you commit to downloading anything.
The workflow is built around not wasting money on subjects that will not convert well. A Standard quality pass runs on free credits and produces a fast shape test, which is there so you can decide whether the subject is worth a higher quality run before spending Pro or Ultra credits on it. Exports cover GLB, OBJ, STL and PLY, which between them cover game engines, 3D printing and most standard 3D packages, so the output is not locked to the site.
Start in Studio with either Image to 3D or Text to 3D. For image mode, upload a PNG, JPG or WebP of the subject; the mode uses the uploaded file alone, so a clean single-object photo works better than a busy scene. For text mode, describe the object instead.
Pick a quality level. Standard costs 10 credits and is the cheap shape test. Pro costs 100 credits and Ultra costs 350, and those are the levels intended for work you plan to keep. Generation runs, and the result opens in a browser viewer so you can rotate and inspect the mesh before deciding.
When the model is worth keeping, export it as GLB, OBJ, STL or PLY. Assets stay in My Assets, and a Gallery and Showcase collect example output if you want to see what the different quality levels actually produce before spending anything.
- •Image to 3D from a single photo - Generates a model from one product photo or concept image rather than a photogrammetry capture, which is what makes it usable for a subject you only have one picture of.
- •Text to 3D - Describe an object in words and generate a model with no reference image, useful when the thing does not exist yet.
- •Three quality levels with different credit costs - Standard at 10 credits for a shape test, Pro at 100 and Ultra at 350 for final work, so a bad subject can be found cheaply.
- •In-browser inspection before download - The viewer lets you rotate and check the mesh before exporting, rather than downloading a file to find out it is unusable.
- •Four export formats - GLB, OBJ, STL and PLY, covering real-time engines, 3D printing and standard 3D packages.
- •A one-time plan alongside subscriptions - Maker is a single 9.99 payment for 1,000 credits that never expire, which suits a one-off project rather than forcing a monthly commitment.
Useful to product and ecommerce teams who need a 3D view of an item they only have photos of, indie game developers filling a scene with props without commissioning each one, and 3D printing hobbyists starting from a reference picture. Designers exploring concepts will find the Standard tier enough to test an idea before paying for detail.
Anyone needing production-accurate geometry, clean topology for animation, or dimensional precision for manufacturing should treat the output as a starting point rather than a finished asset. This is generation, not scanning, and the quality ladder exists because the first result is often not the keeper.
