Videoleap is Lightricks' video editor, aimed squarely at short-form social content rather than at filmmaking. It sits in the same portfolio as Photoleap and Facetune and takes the same approach: operations that would be multi-step tasks in a desktop editor are single actions on a phone.
The problem it solves is the gap between a phone's built-in trimmer and a desktop non-linear editor. The built-in tools cut and nothing else; desktop editors assume a timeline, a project file and an afternoon. Most social video needs neither - it needs a clip trimmed, a background swapped, text added and an export sized for a feed, done in a few minutes on the device that shot it.
Videoleap is free to download with a set of free features, and the fuller tool set sits behind a subscription with a seven-day trial. Like the rest of the Lightricks consumer apps, the subscription price is not published on the website.
You start from a clip or from one of the premade templates. Templates carry the structure - timing, transitions, text placement - and you drop your own footage into them, which is the faster path for anyone making a video in a recognisable format.
Editing proper works on a timeline: trimming, reordering, speed changes and reversal, with filters and text applied per clip. The AI tools work differently, generating or removing content rather than arranging it, which covers object removal, background removal and the infinite zoom effect.
Audio comes either from the royalty-free library or from your own tracks, layered against the video. Export is sized for social platforms.

Videoleap is for people making short video for social platforms on the device that shot it: creators posting to TikTok and Reels, small businesses producing their own ads, anyone who needs a clip cleaned up and captioned without opening a laptop. The template route in particular suits people who know what format they want and do not want to build it from scratch.
It is not a professional editing tool. There is no multi-track colour grading, no serious audio mixing, and the output is aimed at feeds rather than at broadcast.
