AI3D Studio
The AI 3D generation studio for games and printing
About AI3D Studio
AI3D Studio is a web studio for making 3D models with AI, aimed at game developers and 3D printing makers. You give it a picture, a text prompt, a sketch or several views of an object, choose which generation model should build it, and get back a mesh you can download as GLB, FBX, OBJ, STL or USDZ. The problem it addresses is fragmentation: the strongest image-to-3D and text-to-3D models come from different vendors, each with its own account, pricing and export quirks. AI3D Studio puts them behind one credit balance and one interface, and shows the credit cost of every run on the Generate button before you submit.
AI3D Studio does not train its own 3D model. It is an independent product that routes jobs to named upstream models, including Tripo H3.1, P1 and P2, Hunyuan3D 3.1 Pro, Rapid and Sketch, TRELLIS.2, Rodin Gen-2.5, Meshy 7.1, Hitem3D 3.0 and Seed3D 2.0, and labels every sample result with the model that made it. What it adds on top is the workflow around generation: a model editor for retexturing, remeshing, rigging and segmentation, print preparation with height presets and filament estimates, multi-step pipelines, batch runs, a REST API with an MCP connector, and around 20 free browser tools for viewing, converting and repairing 3D files. Version 1.0 shipped on 2026-09-27 and the public changelog shows frequent releases since. Generation requires a paid plan or a credit pack; creating an account adds no credits.
You start from one of the generators: Image to 3D, Text to 3D, Multi-view to 3D, Sketch to 3D, a low poly generator or Image to Gaussian Splat. A model picker lists each upstream model with its maker, the file formats it returns, its typical run time and its credit price. Tripo H3.1 is preselected as the lowest-cost textured all-rounder at 38 credits for a textured image-to-3D run.
Next you set the options. Texture on or off, detailed mesh quality, quad topology, PBR materials and face count each change the price, and the total updates under the Generate button as you change them. Credits are reserved when the run starts and refunded automatically if it fails.
The result opens in a 3D viewer where you can orbit it and switch between textured, clay, wireframe and UV checker views, and save a snapshot or turntable recording. The file is stored in your account Library, so the download link does not expire with the provider URL, and the download panel converts it to other formats in the browser at no credit cost.
From there you can send the model on to an editing step (retexture, remesh, auto-rig, part segmentation), to print preparation, or chain several steps together in a pipeline such as photo to cut-out to 3D model, or a character turnaround built from four generated views.
- •
Multi-Model 3D Generation - One credit balance runs 11 generation models from several vendors for image, text, sketch and multi-view input. Every model page shows real outputs labelled with the model that produced them, so you can compare Rodin, Meshy, Tripo or Hunyuan3D results on the same input before spending credits.
- •
AI 3D Model Editor - Change a mesh you already have instead of generating a new one: retexture it with TRELLIS.2, Hitem3D or Tripo Texture, rebuild topology with Tripo Remesh or Hunyuan3D Smart Topology, split it into parts with Tripo Part Segmentation, or create a 3-12 second humanoid motion clip from a text description. Uploads of GLB, OBJ, FBX or STL up to 200 MB are accepted.
- •
Auto-Rigging and Animation - Meshy rigging adds a humanoid skeleton with one of nine preset animations or up to ten clips from a 656-clip library, while Tripo Auto-Rig covers quadrupeds, birds, snakes, fish and multi-legged creatures, producing game-ready GLB or FBX files.
- •
3D Printing Preparation - Hitem3D 3.0 builds print-grade models with up to 5M faces and exports STL directly. The download panel scales STL files to 28, 50, 100 or 180 mm presets, reports dimensions and volume, and estimates PLA grams. A multicolor tool reduces a texture to 2, 4, 6 or 8 filament colors for multi-material printers.
- •
Pipelines, Batches and API - Pipelines link image and 3D steps into one run. Creator and Studio plans add batch image-to-3D of up to 25 pictures and CSV pipeline batches. Every paid plan and pack includes API keys for a JSON REST API with asynchronous jobs, an OpenAPI description and an MCP connector for Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor.
- •
Free Browser Tools - About 20 tools run on your device without an account or credits, including an STL and 3D viewer, a file converter, GLB compressor, polygon reducer, UV unwrap, model repair, lithophane maker, relief generator, texture painter and PBR map generator.
Indie and small-studio game developers are the core audience: concept art can be turned into textured props and characters, low poly assets can be built to a face budget, and characters can be rigged and animated without opening a DCC tool. Teams that produce many assets can use batches, the shared Team credit pool and the API to run generation from their own scripts or agents.
3D printing hobbyists and print shops can turn a photo into a figurine, scale it to a target height, check filament use and prepare multicolor prints in one place. The free browser tools are useful on their own for anyone who needs to view, convert or repair STL, OBJ, GLB or 3MF files.
It also suits people who want to compare 3D generation vendors without opening several subscriptions, since every run names its model and its price. It is less suited to anyone who needs manual polygon editing or sculpting, which the site states it does not offer, or who wants to try AI generation for free, since generating any model requires a plan or credit pack.
