Fotor
Online photo editor and AI design suite
About Fotor
Fotor is a browser based photo editor and design suite that has grown into a broad AI creative platform. It covers the work most people actually need doing to an image, from cropping and colour correction through background removal, object removal and portrait retouching, without the learning curve of a desktop editor. It runs in the browser with apps for iOS, Android and Windows, and the free tier does not ask for a card.
What separates it from a single purpose AI tool is the range under one subscription. The same account covers photo editing, AI image generation, AI video generation built on third party models including Kling, Seedance and Veo, template based graphic design, and an AI agent you talk to rather than click through. That breadth is the point: most of the alternatives do one of those things and expect you to assemble a stack from four vendors.
The newest addition is Video Agent, announced on their homepage as chat driven creation of production ready video and motion graphics that stay editable afterwards. It sits inside the Fotor Agent workspace alongside the image agent rather than as a separate product, and Fotor has not yet published a specification page for it, so treat the performance claims in their launch material as unverified. The agent itself is real and metered across every plan, from 50 chats on the free tier to 10,000 on the top one.
You work either in the classic editor or through the agent, and the two share the same account and asset library.
In the editor you upload an image and pick a tool. Background removal, object removal, enhancement and retouching are one click operations that return a result you can then adjust by hand. Batch editing applies the same operation across a folder, which is the feature that pays for itself if you process product photos.
Through the agent you describe what you want in a chat box instead. "Remove the background and put this on a white studio backdrop" does the work without you finding the tool. The same interface now accepts video requests through Video Agent.
Everything is metered in credits rather than per feature. Plans carry a monthly or yearly credit allowance, unused credits roll over for up to five months while you stay subscribed, and generation heavy work such as AI video consumes more of them than a background removal does.
- •Photo editing suite - over 100 tools covering crops, curves, filters, retouching and the adjustments a normal edit needs, with batch processing for repeated work.
- •One click AI cleanup - background remover, object remover and photo enhancer that handle the tedious jobs, plus 20 or more portrait retouch operations.
- •AI image generation - text to image, AI replace and AI expand, so generated elements can be blended into an existing photo rather than starting from scratch.
- •AI video generation - access to Kling, Seedance and Veo from one account, which is cheaper than subscribing to each model provider directly.
- •AI Agent, including the new Video Agent - a chat interface that plans and executes edits and, as of this launch, assembles video with motion graphics that remain editable.
- •Design and templates - more than 100,000 templates plus brand kits on higher plans, covering social posts, collages and marketing assets.
Small businesses and solo marketers get the most from it. If you are producing social posts, product shots and the occasional promo video yourself, the breadth of one subscription beats assembling a stack, and the batch editing genuinely saves hours on product catalogues.
Content creators who need images and video but do not want to learn Photoshop or After Effects are the other clear fit. The agent lowers the floor considerably: describing an edit is faster than finding the tool that performs it.
It is a weaker fit for professional designers and retouchers, who will hit the ceiling of a browser editor quickly and miss the precision of the desktop equivalents. It is also worth knowing that the free tier watermarks exports, so the genuinely free use is evaluation rather than production.
