AI-native eLearning authoring with storyboards you stay in control of
About Mindsmith
Mindsmith is an eLearning authoring tool built around an AI agent rather than around a timeline. You point it at the source material an instructional designer normally has to work from - slide decks, standard operating procedures, recorded video, documents from a subject matter expert - and it drafts interactive lessons, which you then shape through a storyboard rather than accepting or rejecting wholesale. The distinction matters: a generator hands you a finished artefact and leaves editing to you, whereas Mindsmith keeps the structure visible and editable at every step, which is what makes it usable by people who do this for a living.
This is corporate learning and development rather than the classroom. The customer logos on the homepage are Infosys, Siemens, UNESCO, Allianz, McKesson and similar, and the feature set reflects that: version history, live collaboration between authors, engagement analytics, SCORM output for an existing LMS. The company states more than 16,000 eLearning designers use it. Pricing is per author, which is the right shape for a studio of two or three designers serving a large organisation and the wrong shape for a department where everybody dabbles - the figures climb quickly with headcount. Educators are offered 30% off and learners are always free, both stated on the pricing page. Narration uses ElevenLabs voices, and extra AI credits are sold at $1 per 50 for teams that run out.
You create a lesson and give the agent something to work from: upload the slides, the SOP, the video, or describe what the lesson needs to cover. Mindsmith produces a storyboard - the lesson broken into blocks with a stated purpose for each - and you work at that level, reordering, rewriting and replacing sections before any polish is applied. Interactive elements, knowledge checks and narration are added into that structure, with voice generated from the text. Several authors can work on the same lesson at once, and version history means a bad edit is recoverable. When the lesson is done you publish it: share a link, embed it in an existing page, or export SCORM for delivery through a corporate LMS. Engagement analytics come back from learners who took it, so the next revision has something to work from.
- •Agent-Drafted Storyboards - Source material becomes a visible, editable lesson structure rather than an opaque finished file
- •Multiple Source Types - Slides, SOPs, recorded video and SME documents all accepted as input
- •ElevenLabs Narration - Generated voiceover from the lesson text, metered against the plan's credit allowance
- •Live Collaboration and Version History - Several authors in one lesson at once, with a recoverable history
- •Link, Embed or SCORM Delivery - Share directly or export into an existing learning platform
- •Engagement Analytics - Learner-level data on how a published lesson actually performed
Instructional designers and L&D teams who build training for a living and want the first draft done without giving up control of the structure, particularly in organisations where source material arrives as SOPs and SME interviews rather than as a finished script. Educators get a discount and the tool will do classroom work, but it sits oddly next to the lesson-planning tools in this category: the vocabulary, the integrations and the pricing are all corporate. Per-author pricing means a team of five on Professional is $245 a month billed monthly, which is a different proposition from the single-seat tools around it. The free tier's 450 credits are a one-time grant at signup, not a monthly allowance, so it is an extended trial in practice.
