Translate text in images, keep the layout
About TranslateMyImage
TranslateMyImage is an online AI image translator: you upload a photo, screenshot or design, choose a target language and download the same image with its text translated in place. It is built for the moment when understanding the words is not enough and you need the picture itself in another language - a product photo for a new marketplace, an ad creative for another market, a restaurant menu, a manga page or a labeled technical diagram. Traditional approaches split this into separate jobs: run OCR to pull the text out, translate it, erase the original lettering and retype the translation by hand in a design tool. TranslateMyImage collapses those steps into one pass.
The distinctive part is how the translation is produced. Instead of an OCR, erase and retype pipeline, a generative AI image model reads the visible text, translates it and regenerates the whole image with the translated text, instructed to keep the layout, typography, colors and non-text elements unchanged. That separates it from OCR translators, which only give you text to read or copy, and from overlay tools that paint a translation on top of the original. The vendor is candid that results are generated and vary with image quality, fonts and complex layouts, so names, numbers and prices should be checked before publishing. The service is a small independent SaaS made by Louis Desclous and published from France. Pricing is credit based, with one credit per translated image: a free Basic plan with 3 credits a month for personal use, Pro and Premium subscriptions, and pay-as-you-go credit packs that work without a subscription.
The core workflow is a single-image uploader on the homepage and the image translator page. You drop in one PNG, JPG or WebP image of up to 10 MB, then pick a source language or leave it on auto-detect, and choose a target language. The main translator, batch mode and API cover nine languages: English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean and Chinese. A further 36 target languages are available through dedicated language pages, for 45 in total.
Before translating you can choose a quality level (Basic, or Ultra on Pro and above and with pay-as-you-go credits) and a content type - Default mode, Marketing, Manga/Comics or Technical Documentation - which adapts the translation style to the material. Each image passes automated content filters, then the model returns a new image. You review the result against the original and download it when it is ready.
For larger jobs, paid plans unlock Batch Translation in the dashboard. You add up to 10 images per run, assign one or several target languages to each image, set shared settings for the run (source language, quality, content type and an optional AI instruction), then follow the status of each output and download everything as a ZIP. A run can produce up to 50 output images, and one credit is used per output, deducted only when the translated image has been generated. Developers can do the same programmatically through a single REST endpoint that takes an image and a target language and returns a URL to the translated image.
- •
Layout-preserving AI translation - The generative model rewrites the text inside the image and returns a new image that follows the original fonts, colors and composition, so the output can be shared, printed or published rather than just read. There is no separate extract, erase and retype step to manage.
- •
45 target languages with auto-detect - Nine languages are supported across the main translator, batch mode and API, and 36 more are reachable through dedicated language pages. The source language can be set explicitly or detected automatically, and setting it when known is recommended for better results.
- •
Content types and custom AI instructions - Every translation can use Default mode, Marketing, Manga/Comics or Technical Documentation to steer the style. From the Pro plan you can also add up to 1,000 characters of custom instructions to a translation, a batch or a resize, for example to fix terminology or tone.
- •
Batch translation - On paid plans, up to 10 images per run, several target languages per image and up to 50 outputs per run, with ZIP download and a batch history of past runs. Downloads keep the original file name plus the target language, and the results view shows which translations failed.
- •
Image translation API - A single endpoint, POST /api/translate, accepts a multipart upload with the image, target language and optional source language, quality, content type and custom prompt, authenticated with an X-API-Key header. The JSON response contains a URL to the translated image. API keys are created in the dashboard and API access starts with the Pro plan.
- •
Basic and Ultra quality, plus extra image tools - Translations come in Basic or Ultra quality, with Ultra included from Pro and with credit packs. The dashboard also offers image resizing to other aspect ratios such as 1:1, 16:9 or 9:16, and the site hosts free tools like an image converter, compressor, cropper and watermark tool that need no account.
E-commerce sellers and marketplace teams are a core audience: product photos, Amazon A+ content and Chinese product images can be localized for new markets without sending every asset back to a designer. Batch mode fits a catalog of similar product shots that need several languages each.
Marketing and localization teams use it to adapt ad creatives, social graphics and email banners for different regions while keeping brand layouts intact, with the Marketing content type and custom instructions helping keep terminology consistent across a campaign.
Readers and translators of manga, manhwa and comics can translate speech bubbles, captions and sound effects with the dedicated Manga/Comics mode, while engineers and technical writers can update labels and callouts on diagrams, charts and documentation figures without redrawing them.
Restaurants and small businesses can translate menus and price lists while keeping the print layout, and travelers or casual users can try the free Basic plan to translate signs, screenshots, chats or packaging for personal use. Developers building localization pipelines or apps can call the REST API from Pro upward. Commercial use of translated images requires the Pro plan or higher, and because output is generated, anyone publishing the results should review names, numbers and prices against the original first.
