Fomrix
Turn an image or a few words into a 3D model
About Fomrix
Fomrix is an AI 3D model generator that turns a reference image or a short text description into a 3D model you can rotate, inspect and download. It is built for people who need a 3D starting asset without modelling it from scratch: game and web developers who want a prop or character mesh, makers who want a shape to prepare for 3D printing, and designers who want to explore a product from every angle. Generation delivers a GLB file with optional PBR textures, and a set of free browser tools covers the steps around it, such as viewing STL and OBJ files, converting GLB to STL and repairing common mesh problems before a print.
Fomrix positions itself as built around the asset rather than the model. You can inspect the real geometry and materials in a 360 degree orbit view before you download, choose the level of detail and texture quality, and revisit every model in a personal library. Two generation engines are offered: H3.1 for characters, props and product concepts, and P1 for a target face count between 50 and 20,000 for game and web workflows. Pricing is credit based, with monthly and yearly subscriptions and one-time credit packs, and every option includes the same models, texture choices and private GLB downloads. New accounts get 30 free welcome credits on day one with no card required.
You start with either a reference image (JPG, PNG or WebP) or a few words describing the object. In Studio you pick the engine and the level of detail: geometry only, a textured surface or a detailed textured model. A text-to-3D model with standard geometry and no textures costs 10 credits, while textured and detailed image models cost 30 or 60 credits.
Fomrix then generates the model and shows it in an interactive web viewer, where you can orbit, zoom and check the lighting, the inferred sides and the wireframe before downloading anything.
If the result works, you download the GLB for your 3D software, game engine or website. For printing, you convert the geometry to STL with the free converter, set the size, check thickness and supports in your slicer, and use the STL repair tool to fix common mesh issues. The site notes that STL exports the shape without textures and that generated models have not been print-tested.
Every model stays in your library, so you can come back to it, convert it again or use it as the start of the next project.
- •
Image to 3D - Generate a textured starting asset from one reference image, with GLB output and optional PBR materials. Useful for turning artwork into a character mesh or a product photo into a 3D concept.
- •
Text to 3D - Describe an object in a few words and get a mesh, at 10 credits for standard geometry without textures, which makes quick iteration on scene assets inexpensive.
- •
Two generation engines - H3.1 for characters, props and product concepts, and P1 for a target of 50 to 20,000 faces when polygon budgets matter in game and web pipelines.
- •
Inspect before download - A real-time 360 degree orbit and lighting view shows the actual geometry and materials so you can judge a result before importing it anywhere.
- •
Free browser 3D tools - An STL viewer, GLB viewer, OBJ viewer, GLB to STL converter and STL repair tool that need no credits.
- •
Print workflow - Convert generated geometry to STL, prepare it in your slicer and repair mesh problems, with clear notes on what STL export does and does not include.
Fomrix fits indie game developers and web developers who need props, characters and scene assets quickly, and who care about face counts and GLB output. Makers and hobbyists with a 3D printer can turn an image of a pet, a figurine idea or a part into a printable starting shape. Product designers and ecommerce teams can explore a product from every angle before a physical sample exists. Occasional users can buy a one-time credit pack, while regular creators can choose a monthly or yearly plan for a lower credit rate.
