Descript vs Opus Clip vs Pictory
Turning long recordings into short clips. The workflows are genuinely different, which makes this an easier decision than it looks.

Which should you pick?
Descript is an editor first: you edit video by editing the transcript, and it is the only one of the three you would use to produce the original recording. Opus Clip is the most automated, built to find the clippable moments in a long video and cut them for vertical feeds. Pictory sits closer to turning written content into video. Pick Descript if you are editing, Opus Clip if you are distributing.
