Campus
A macOS canvas where browsers, terminals, notes and agents are tiles
About Campus
Campus is a macOS workspace built around an infinite canvas rather than windows or tabs. Every tool is a tile you drag: a browser, a terminal, a notepad, a todo list, an agent working on a task. The claim is that it is not a terminal and not a browser but all of it, held in one persistent space where your repository, your project knowledge, your conversations and your agent tasks stay together instead of scattering across applications.
The problem it targets is a genuine one that has arrived quickly. Working with agents means holding context in several places at once: the code, the terminal where something is running, the docs you are checking, the conversation where you explained what you wanted. Tab-switching between those is where the thread gets dropped, and none of the individual tools know about each other. A canvas that keeps them adjacent and persistent is a reasonable answer, and the spatial arrangement carries meaning in a way a stack of windows does not. Their marketing site is itself the canvas, so you can drag tiles around and edit notes on the page before downloading anything, which is an unusually honest way to demo an interface. Two practical limits: it is macOS only, and the whole concept depends on you being someone for whom spatial layout genuinely helps rather than becoming another thing to tidy.
You download the app and get a canvas. Tiles are added for whatever you need: a browser pane for docs, a terminal for the running process, notes for what you worked out, todos, and agents assigned to tasks. Tiles drag by their bars and are arranged spatially, so related work sits together and the layout itself becomes the memory of what you were doing. Everything persists, which means reopening a project restores the arrangement rather than an empty desktop. Repository, terminal, project knowledge, conversations and agent tasks all live in the same space, so an agent's work sits next to the context that produced it rather than in a separate application.
- •Infinite Canvas - Spatial arrangement instead of tabs and windows, with the layout carrying meaning
- •Everything Is a Tile - Browsers, terminals, notes, todos and agents as first-class objects in one space
- •Persistent Workspaces - Reopening restores the arrangement, so context survives closing the laptop
- •Agents Alongside Context - Agent tasks sit next to the repository and conversation that produced them
- •Interactive Demo on the Site - The marketing page is a working canvas you can drag before installing
Developers and builders who work with several agents at once and lose the thread switching between applications, and anyone who thinks spatially and has always found tab bars a poor fit for how they work. It is macOS only, which settles it for a lot of people. The free price and a demo you can try in the browser make the cost of evaluating it close to zero. If you are happy in a terminal multiplexer and an editor, this is solving a problem you do not have.
