Reqode
Less prompting. More control.
About Reqode
Reqode is a requirements and verification platform built for software teams that write code with AI agents such as Codex, Cursor and Claude Code. Its pitch is "less prompting, more control": instead of re-explaining a product to an agent in every chat, you keep the product's requirements, data entities, APIs, interfaces and architecture in one versioned model, hand the agent focused context from it, and then check what the agent wrote against that same model. The problem it targets is familiar to anyone who has leaned on coding agents for more than a prototype. Product decisions end up scattered across chats, documents and code, agents and teammates keep reconstructing the same context, and local changes slowly drift away from architectural rules the agent never saw.
Reqode treats the product model as the AI's memory. Each change is defined as a Change Request that links its goal, the specification revisions it touches, the project branch, the implementation impact and the related issue, so the context an agent receives is branch-aware and specific to the task. Architecture and software-unit blueprints record responsibilities, dependencies and file boundaries, which is what lets Reqode flag architecture drift rather than just style problems. It is made by Almware Ltd in Nicosia, Cyprus, and is offered as a cloud service or a self-hosted deployment with your own AI provider keys.
You start either with a new product, by defining the first feature before any code exists, or with existing software, by connecting the code and specifications for one product area and checking where they disagree. Reqode's AI assistants help refine specifications, design test cases and develop the architecture, and they present structured proposals that you inspect before anything is applied.
When it is time to build, a feature specification becomes a reviewed change with connected context. Your coding agent pulls that context through Reqode's MCP server: the relevant specifications, architecture guidance, software units, file traces and Change Request details for that branch. The agent implements the change, and Reqode verifies the result against the requirements and architecture, recording any Findings so differences can be resolved. Once the change is reviewed, the model is updated and becomes the starting context for the next change. QA agents can use a separate MCP connection to fetch prepared test runs and write results back.
- •Specification management - Requirements, data entities, APIs, interfaces, wireframes and test cases live in one versioned product model with traceable relations and branch-aware revisions.
- •Change management - Every product change is a Change Request tying together its goal, affected specification revisions, branch, implementation impact and linked issue, so work has a defined scope before an agent touches it.
- •Architecture blueprints - Subsystem architecture and software-unit blueprints carry implementation rules, responsibilities, dependencies and file boundaries linked back to the specifications, which is how drift gets caught.
- •AI assistants - Built-in assistants refine specs, draft test cases, develop architecture and review implementations, always as proposals you inspect before applying.
- •MCP for coding agents - Codex, Cursor, Claude Code and other MCP clients receive focused, branch-aware context and can record and resolve Findings as they work.
- •MCP for QA agents - QA agents get prepared test runs, cases, steps and expected outcomes, and report execution results, statuses and step outcomes back into Reqode.
Reqode is aimed at developers and small product teams whose features touch connected data, APIs, interfaces and business rules across more than one part of a system, the point where prompt engineering alone stops scaling. Startup teams can try it free with up to three users and three projects. Growing engineering teams that already run several coding agents will get the most from the shared source of truth and per-change context, especially when a single feature spans multiple apps or services. Tech leads worried about agents quietly breaking architectural boundaries can use the blueprints and verification step as a review gate. Organisations that cannot send code or specifications to a third-party cloud can run Reqode self-hosted with their own AI provider keys.
