ChatFlowchart
Turn text, images and PDFs into editable diagrams
About ChatFlowchart
ChatFlowchart solves two related problems that usually require two different tools. The first is familiar: turning a description into a diagram without manually placing every node and dragging every connector. The second is the more painful one. Somewhere in every organisation is a critical architecture diagram that exists only as a PNG in a slide deck, or a process map that lives as a photograph of a whiteboard, and updating it means rebuilding the whole thing from scratch. ChatFlowchart recovers those into editable diagram objects rather than leaving them as flat images.
Generation covers a wide range of diagram types beyond simple flowcharts, including tree diagrams, probability trees, entity relationship diagrams, Hasse diagrams, quadrant charts and DFA diagrams. Editing happens through conversation, so nodes can be renamed, steps inserted, branches simplified and connections rewired by asking rather than by dragging. Export is deliberately open: PNG, SVG and PDF for documents, plus Draw.io-compatible files, Mermaid code and Excalidraw for anyone who wants to keep working elsewhere. That Mermaid and Draw.io output matters, since it means diagrams are not trapped in the tool that made them. The free tier requires no login at all, and billing on paid plans runs through Paddle.
There are two entry points. From text, describe the process or structure in plain English and ChatFlowchart wires the diagram, choosing an appropriate diagram type and laying out the nodes. From an image, upload a screenshot, PDF, whiteboard photo or an old flowchart image and it rebuilds the contents as editable diagram objects rather than tracing over a picture. Once a diagram exists, refine it by chatting: ask to rename a node, add a step, collapse a branch, or restyle the whole thing. When finished, export to PNG, SVG or PDF, or take the structure with you as a Draw.io file, Mermaid code or an Excalidraw document. Shareable links cover quick review without an export step.
- •Text to Diagram - Plain English becomes an editable flowchart, tree diagram, probability tree, ERD or one of several other types, with no manual node placement
- •Image and PDF Recovery - Screenshots, PDFs, whiteboard photographs and legacy flowchart images are rebuilt into editable objects, not traced as pictures
- •Conversational Editing - Rename nodes, add steps, simplify branches, rewire connections and restyle by asking rather than by clicking through property panels
- •Open Export Formats - PNG, SVG and PDF plus Draw.io files, Mermaid code and Excalidraw, so diagrams stay portable rather than locked to this tool
- •Wide Diagram Type Coverage - Beyond flowcharts to Hasse diagrams, probability trees, quadrant charts, DFA diagrams, ERDs and graphs
- •No-Login Free Tier - Core AI diagram generation is usable immediately with no account, subject to a monthly limit and a watermark on PNG export
- •Shareable Links - Send a diagram for review without exporting a file first
- •Template Library - Prebuilt starting points across common diagram use cases
Useful to engineers documenting architecture and data flows who would rather describe a system than draw it, product and operations people mapping processes, and anyone who has inherited a diagram that exists only as an image and needs to change one box in it. Teachers and students get the academic diagram types that general design tools do not cover. Developers who keep diagrams in version control will care most about the Mermaid export, since it turns a visual artefact back into reviewable text.
