"Brand mention monitoring" used to mean one thing: find every place on the web and social media where someone wrote your name. In 2026 it means two. The second is what AI answers say about you, because a growing share of people never see a list of links. They ask ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google's AI Mode, get one synthesised answer, and either your brand is in it or it is not.
Those two jobs are sold by mostly different tools at very different prices, so this post splits them. One disclosure up front: I have not run a paid plan on any of these. This is a comparison of what each one sells and what it costs, with every price read off the vendor's own pricing page on 12 October 2026 (or, for tools we list, on the date shown on their listing). Where a page hid something or only showed annual billing, I say so.
Why the AI half matters, with my own numbers
Ahrefs now reports AI mentions alongside backlinks. For this site it shows 218 AI responses that mention intelligenttools.co: 82 in Google AI Mode, 64 in Google AI Overviews, 53 in Perplexity, 9 in Gemini, 8 in Copilot and 2 in ChatGPT. Same site, same content, and a forty-fold difference between engines. A classic mention tracker would not see any of that, and a tool that only tracked ChatGPT would tell me I barely exist. That spread is the main reason the AI visibility tools below price per prompt and per engine.
The short version
Prices are the month-to-month rate for the cheapest paid plan, with the annual-billing rate in brackets where the page shows one.

Classic mention monitoring
These watch the open web and social platforms for your name and tell you when it appears. They differ mostly in which sources they cover, how often they check, and how many mentions they will store.
Google Alerts
The free baseline, and still worth setting up before you pay for anything. You give it a phrase and it emails you when Google indexes a new page containing it. It does not cover social media, it misses plenty, and there is no sentiment or reporting. But it costs nothing, and if it already catches the mentions you care about, you may not need the rest of this section.
Awario
Awario is the cheapest serious option. The page opens on yearly billing; month to month it is Starter $49, Pro $149 and Enterprise $399, or $29, $89 and $249 a month billed annually. Starter covers 3 topics with unlimited keywords per topic and 30,000 new mentions a month, but stores only 5,000 mentions per topic and leaves out data export, which starts on Pro. The trial gives you the Starter plan for free until it expires.
BrandMentions

BrandMentions sits in the middle. Starter is $99 a month but billed quarterly, so you pay three months at a time, which is easy to miss. Pro is $299, Expert $499 and Enterprise from $1,299 a month. There is a 7-day trial and no free tier.
Brand24
Brand24 is the one most people have heard of, and its pricing page opens on annual billing, which makes it look cheaper than it is. Month to month it is Individual $249, Team $349, Pro $499 and Business $699; billed annually those drop to $199, $299, $399 and $599. The entry plan is tight: 3 keywords, 2,000 mentions a month, one user and updates every 12 hours. Real-time updates start on Pro. Its AI visibility module is only listed on Enterprise (from $1,499 a month billed annually), so it does not cover the second half of this post at any sensible budget. 14-day free trial.
Mention
Mention no longer prints a self-serve price. Its pricing page describes one company plan (social, web and 75+ review sites, sentiment, share of voice) behind a "Get a demo" button, with historical data and API access listed as paid add-ons. If you want a number before talking to sales, look elsewhere.
AI search visibility
These tools run a set of prompts ("best CRM for startups", "is [your brand] any good") through AI engines on a schedule and record whether you appear, where, with what sentiment, and which sources the engine cited. Pricing is built on prompts: Peec spells out that your monthly volume is tracked prompts times engines times tracking frequency, which is why the plans are described in prompts rather than seats.
HubSpot AI Search Grader
Free, no account needed, and a one-time check rather than monitoring. It asks ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini about your brand and scores the result out of 100 across sentiment, presence quality, brand recognition, share of voice and market position. It reflects what those models say from their training data, so it is a snapshot of your reputation, not a tracker. Run it first; it tells you whether there is a problem worth paying to watch.
Convertos
The only pay-as-you-go option here. There is no subscription: credit packs are $5 for 200 credits, $19 for 1,000 and $49 for 3,000, and the credits never expire. New accounts get 10 starter credits on sign-in. If you want to check AI visibility now and then rather than daily, this is the cheapest way to do it.
Otterly.AI

Otterly has the lowest subscription entry point in this category. Lite is $29 a month ($25 billed annually) for 15 prompts tracked daily across ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot, with Claude, Google AI Mode and Gemini as paid add-ons. Fifteen prompts is enough to watch your brand name and a handful of buying questions, not a whole market. Standard is $189 ($160 yearly) for 100 prompts and adds API access; Premium is $489 ($422 yearly) for 400. 14-day free trial.
LLM Pulse
LLM Pulse prices in euros by default (there is a currency selector). Month to month, Starter is EUR 49 for 50 prompts and one project, Growth EUR 99 for 150 prompts and two projects, and Scale EUR 299 for 450 prompts and five projects; annual billing gives two months free. Every plan includes five AI models and unlimited team members, and extra prompts are EUR 1 each per month, which makes it easy to grow in small steps. 14-day free trial on the weekly-tracking plans.
Peec AI
Peec is aimed at SEO teams. Starter is $95 a month for 50 prompts, 3 models of your choice, daily tracking and one project; Pro is $245 for 150 prompts and Advanced $495 for 350 prompts with multi-country tracking. It classifies every prompt as branded or non-branded and by intent, which matters if you are trying to tell "people asking about us" apart from "people asking for a category we should be in". There is a free trial.
Profound
Profound is the enterprise end. The pricing page shows only a free trial (50 prompts run daily for 7 days, on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews) and a custom Enterprise plan covering up to 9 answer engines, behind a demo. It has also grown into an "AI Marketer" that writes and runs content agents on top of the tracking, which is a different purchase from monitoring alone.
Verseodin
Verseodin starts where the others top out: Starter is $799 a month for 1,000 prompts and 120,000 prompt runs a month, with Enterprise on request. There is no free plan, but there is a free AI visibility report. Only relevant if you need to track a large prompt set.
How I would start on a small budget
- Set up Google Alerts for your brand name and product names. Free, five minutes.
- Run HubSpot's AI Search Grader once to see what the main AI engines say about you today.
- If the alerts miss social mentions you care about, try Awario (cheapest serious web and social tracker).
- If the grader shows you are missing from AI answers for questions you should own, try Otterly Lite at $29 or Convertos credits before committing to a $95+ plan.
Three pricing traps from this research
- Annual billing shown by default. Brand24 and Awario both open on yearly prices. Brand24's Individual plan is $199 on the default view and $249 if you pay monthly.
- Quarterly billing. BrandMentions' $99 Starter is charged three months at a time.
- Currency. LLM Pulse shows euros unless you switch, and nothing on the page converts for you.
