ReleasePad
Your changelog, written for you by AI
About ReleasePad
ReleasePad is release notes and changelog software that drafts announcements for you and waits for your approval before anything goes live. The problem it addresses is familiar to fast-moving product teams: features ship, but nobody writes the release notes, so customers open a quiet changelog and assume the product stood still, while support keeps answering questions about things fixed weeks ago. ReleasePad starts from what you shipped and hands you a draft in plain, customer-facing language, filed under the right category. Nothing publishes without you, and there is no auto-publish switch to leave on by mistake.
Updates can come from three places: a couple of lines typed into the editor, a request to your AI assistant through the MCP server, or a connected GitHub repository where each merge becomes a draft. Published posts appear in an embeddable in-app widget (4.3kb, no dependencies), on a public changelog page, and as LLM-ready Markdown that AI assistants can ingest. Pricing is flat per product rather than per seat or per active user. The Free plan offers a limited number of posts with no time limit. Pro is $35/month per product, billed monthly, and adds unlimited posts and team members, analytics, GitHub AI drafting, API, webhooks, MCP access and a custom domain.
- •Say what shipped - Write a short note, tell your AI assistant, or connect GitHub so merged pull requests trigger drafts automatically. Conventional Commit parsing is supported.
- •ReleasePad writes the announcement - The AI turns commits or notes into a benefit-led post in your tone and assigns a category such as Feature, Improvement or Fix.
- •You approve - Review, edit, discard or approve and publish with one click, or schedule the post for later.
- •Customers see it - The post appears in the in-app widget, on your public changelog page, in RSS and JSON feeds, and as Markdown for AI assistants.
- •GitHub AI drafting - Connect a repository once and every merge produces a draft written for customers rather than committers, waiting for one-click approval.
- •In-app widget - A single script tag adds a lightweight "What's new" widget inside your product, themed to match light and dark modes.
- •Public changelog page - An SEO-ready, brandable page that can be served from your own subdomain via CNAME with free TLS on Pro.
- •MCP server - Lets Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT and other MCP clients create, edit, schedule and publish posts and pull view counts in plain language, with OAuth sign-in.
- •REST API and webhooks - A management API for creating, scheduling and publishing posts from CI or scripts, plus webhooks fired when a post is created, published or deleted.
- •Changelog analytics - Per-post views and unique readers, widget open rate by user segment, a trending posts dashboard and CSV export.
ReleasePad fits SaaS teams that ship often and want customers to notice, without assigning someone to write release notes by hand. Engineering leads who struggle to get developers to document changes can rely on the GitHub integration, while product managers and founders get a review-and-publish workflow instead of a blank editor. Non-technical users can publish by describing changes to an AI assistant, with the widget installed once by a developer. Companies running several products get a separate changelog, widget and public page per product from one dashboard. Small teams without a dedicated marketing person get a polished public changelog, and larger teams benefit from flat per-product pricing with unlimited team members.
